Midsummer Clowning Residential - July 2011

Midsummer Clowning is the best retreat to attend if you are interested in performing and outdoor events. It can be a very inspiring next step for sacred clowns who have already attended a few retreats and feel like a new challenge, or for people who have come to the work through their interests in performance.

For seven days we worked intensively to find free ways to improvise as a group. Much of our exercises revolved around a theme for example of ‘doing as one’. Through receptivity and listening, individuals learned to tune into one other and act as one organism. Audience members commented on how in-sync and together the performance was.

“It feels so safe and supportive to perform as one of the group,” said Sandrine.

“This is the way we work,” said Didier, “We work as one, as a team on a journey of discovery. We don’t leave anybody behind and the results in performance show that.”
